My Experience with CBD Oil

If you're tuned into the wellness world, you've likely heard a lot about CBD oil over the past several months. (If not here are two articles that cover the basics: Well+Good & mindbodygreen) Anecdotally I'd heard people say it made a huge difference in their lives, not to mention my sister now gives it to her dog for his hip arthritis. Still, I was a bit wary.

I've never smoked and somehow was convinced that taking CBD would make me high or I would start testing positive on drug tests, get pulled over in the airport if I had it in my bag, etc. Well check to the paranoia of being high lol. But after the frustration of being in pain post-Barry's, I was desperate to try something else, and the last thing I wanted was to put chemicals into my body.

I def don't look like this when I take mine. PC: plantpeople.co

As luck would have it, a very dear friend recently co-founded the company Plant People. He's the type of person I would trust with just about anything and if he and his partner think that CBD is a good thing, well then sign me up. I took the plunge at the end of July and haven't looked back.

Each morning with my daily vitamins and medicine, I take a half-dropper full of their drops. The first dose I thought I'd be a big shot and take two, half-droppers full (the bottle said one to four). This resulted in tummy troubles, which I've since read can happen. Stomach aside, adding Plant People drops to my daily routine has been life-changing. I'm not cured, and I don't think I ever can be unless a surgeon's table gets involved, but my baseline for pain is now so much different. Things that used to be painful either no longer hurt or hurt so much less. I am no longer afraid to try to run, and even went for a run while in Ireland. The day after the run I was sore but not hurting, and those of you who struggle with chronic pain/injuries know there is a big difference.

Before my CBD drops, I don't know if I would have had the confidence to hike up Diamond Hill. It would have been a shame to miss this view.

I'm going to slowly start increasing and try taking a half dropper in the AM and a half in the PM. I don't know if I'll notice a difference but at this point I have nothing to lose but pain.

Have you tried CBD oil? What was your experience like?
